At the rear of your property, hop right on the
Shining Seas Bike Path and take a leisurely bicycle ride into Woods Hole or head for Falmouth
Village and beyond. Change course a bit onto Surf Drive where you can follow the path of the
Falmouth Road Race along Nantucket Sound. Or, take a short walk down the country road to a
private beach to which you have deeded rights. Plus, it’s only a slightly longer jaunt to
Nobska Point and Nobska Beach.
The quaint village of Woods Hole lies a little over
a mile away to the southwest. As you approach town, you’ll see Little Harbor and the Coast Guard
Station on your left and the beautiful Woods Hole Library on your right. Stroll on and you’ll
find classic buildings, restaurants, wonderful shops, a real drawbridge, and an old style Post
Office.
The center of town is home to three world famous
research institutions: The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, the Marine Biological Laboratory,
and the National Marine Fisheries Service. Various exhibits including a salt water aquarium can
be
enjoyed.
Around the corner, hop on a ferry at the Steamship
Authority for the 45 minute ride to Martha’s Vineyard. Woods Hole offers some of the greatest
fishing in the world. Just grab a pole and head for one of several piers or perhaps charter a
fishing trip with an experienced local guide.
